Blue Dot Education's proposal was approved and is currently in the process of building a remotely operated roll-off observatory on Pad 62 at San Diego Astronomy Association's Tierra Del Sol site.

The Newlin Observatory will be operated under Blue Dot Education for research by students, amateurs and professionals. We expect to have students and schools using this upon completion of the build.n

Our main light capture and imaging equipment consists of the following: C14 Edge HD OTA mounted on a CGE Pro mount with a SBIG STT Series CCD

Our research will begin by partnering with Boyce Astro to collect data for research on double stars. We expect to explore our potential to study asteroids, comets, exoplanets, and also gather data using speckle interferometry or spectroscopy.
